Since siding with the Republic also results in the death of Acina, the Sith Empire is likely going to into an internal power struggle for succession datamining and will definately generate more anti-Alliance sentiments within the Empire. Siding with the Republic on Iokath voids that alliance and sends a message to any established and potential allies to the Eternal Alliance that the Commander can go back on his word and betray them if necessary. My Knight, like my Inquisitor, had allied with the Empire against Zakuul. Considering I went light side all the way and rejected becoming Emperor on this character and instead opted for the Peacekeeper role, I simply could not choose a side on Iokath, because in my mind it went against what the Outlander and the Alliance are supposed to stand for, not to mention the implications it could potentially have in the future. Considering she still maintains some ties to the Sith Empire, I figured it would be ok to aid them on Iokath against the Republic, especially considering she had allied with Acina during KOTET.īut then came my goody-two-shoes Jedi Knight. I managed to go through War for Iokath only once so far, on my dark side Inquisitor who became Empress (of Zakuul, I guess?). I can totally relate to OP on this subject, because I had nearly the same reaction. OK, rant over! Personally, I think that this forced decision is a horrendous blunder that disregards everything that we've accomplished thus far but what do you think? It doesn't make sense!Īlso, they send Quinn and Dorn to persuade me!? I wanted to toss both of those characters out of an airlock during the class missions! Nope!įurther, though the Empire has historically been the "greater evil" of the two, they are the only ones who stepped up to help me defeat Vaylin. This goes against everything that the Outlander wanted to achieve by taking control of the Eternal Throne! I was supposed to be a neutral power building alliances and keeping the peace! Now, just 10 minutes into my rule, I'm suddenly forced to reignite this pointless war between two former powers who almost destroyed the entire galaxy. However, I just started the next chapter on Iokath, "Forgotten World", and once I reached the ridiculous forced choice between the Repulic and the Empire, I quit in anger and shut the game down! I tend to play for the story and have enjpyed it very much all the way through KoTET. I'm a solo player who has just returned to the game recently after a bit of a hiatus. Is SWTOR worth trying?
